This website started on October 8, 2009 after several weeks of planning out a biomimicry project. It’s purpose is to follow a short journey of Brian Gomez, a high school student who is in the works of researching spider silk and how it may be helpful within the medical field. The main focus of the project is aimed toward creating a ligament graft for surgical procedures emulating the structure of spider dragline silk, whether by the use of actual spider silk or an identical synthetic silk.
